Spring 2 Week 2

Our duck eggs have arrived! We are excited to watch the hatching process.

We are enjoying learning through play in continuous provision.

The Reception children have been looking at representing numbers in different ways.

We have been watching the eggs in the incubator. One has hatched!

We enjoyed eating pancakes on shrove Tuesday.

We have five cute ducklings! We have named them Chase, Ducky, Sky, Poppy and Noodle 🦆


We enjoyed World Book Day! We all dressed up and the Reception children wrote book reviews about the story ‘Jack and the Beanstalk’. We also had a story read to us online by Burnley Youth Theatre called ‘Greta and the Giants’.

Spring 2 Week 1

We love learning through play!

The Reception children have been looking at different types of weather. They then made weather crafts.

We looked at melting in relation to Olaf the Snowman! We then painted ice.

The Reception children went on a 3D shape hunt around the classroom.

We looked at how shadows are formed and then made our own shadow puppets. We tested these using torches!

Spring 1 Week 6

We love our new reading shed!

As part of E-Safety week, we watched some online safety videos called ‘Jesse and Friends’ and discussed these.

The Reception children have been looking at combing two groups of objects in maths.

As part of mental health week, we participated in meditation with cuddly toys. We focused on our breathing and keeping calm.

As part of Mental Health week, we made ‘Worry Monsters’ to help us with our worries.

We enjoyed expressing ourselves on Mental Health day.
